Golf tournaments over the last week Last week Assistant Professionals Matthew and Fraser competed at Royal Dornoch in the Sandy Pipey Trophy. Scoring showed on the first round that the course was playing very difficult with Matthew shooting a score of 80 and Fraser shooting a score of 78. Both scores were not their best despite conditions being perfect playing conditions. In the second round Matthew managed to recover himself from the previous day with a score of 71, shooting one over to move himself up the leaderboard and finishing respectably in the field. Fraser played solid in the front nine of the second round with eight pars and a triple, going into the back nine Fraser again played solid although a couple holes let him down and finished with a score of 77. The following day Fraser headed down to Oakmere Golf Club in Nottingham for the British Assistants. Unfortunately Fraser's form carried over into this event with an overall score of 16 over for the two rounds. Both Matthew and Fraser are now looking into playing further competitions, that are still remaining in the PGA Assistants calander this season. |
