There's a new ball in town

Junior one to one!

For junior members, Matthew has been offering one to one sessions as part of the membership scheme!

October is when we are aiming to have junior coaching for U11's returning.

Club news

Swing room

This week we have done a little more work on the Swing room. We removed a beam now so there's greater space to swing and a frame-up for the screen.

We have a GC2 Launch monitor and software, projector, net. We need to get the room painted, carpeted, then purchase a mat, TV, PC and then we are ready.

It's taken a little time due to cost, COVID and delayed matters, but we hope to have this operational for the winter.

The Swing room will be used for coaching, club fitting, practice hire for members practice, and fun days.

Workshop repairs

Since golf has resumed, shop staff member Matthew has been very busy repairing your golf clubs which has been varying from; re-gripping to re-shafting clubs from various makes and models.

We also have been busy doing loft and lies and multiple fittings with brands ranging from Titleist to Callaway!

Wedges that work for you

Over the past few weeks, we've worked our way through the bag, from hybrids to irons and now to wedges. Each time we've been looking at what we want from each club and how it fits into our bag. So, how well do your wedges compliment the rest of your set?

PING Glide 3.0 wedges

Our quest to hit the ball further has knock-on effects throughout the bag. It can only be a good thing if you're hitting your irons one or two clubs longer than previously, but it also means that the distance gap to your wedges gets bigger.

Make a change

When it comes to smashing one off the tee, there’s always a bit of push-and-pull between striking one as far as you can and simply not sending it out of bounds. For that reason, we could all do with a little forgiveness in a driver.
