We hope our weekly emails are providing you with a little bit of normality in these difficult times. I am sure your all looking forward to getting back on the course when safe time returns. Whilst closed we have been preparing for return to golf and how we can do this safely. As a club when the time comes this will include sending each member a document on the guidelines, we have in place to ensure a safe return for all golfers. In terms of the Professional shop it will mean, - Counter screens in place for staff safety
- Hand sanitiser on entry
- Card payment only
- Limited numbers of 2 in the shop at any time
- Safe queuing system observing social distance
- Specific tee time intervals
- Online tee booking
- Longer shop opening hours to manage course demand
- One to one coaching and club fitting safely.
So, we are putting planning in place to be ready when golf returns, to make sure we do everything to make all our members safe. We are well into spring now and it has been great watching the flowers bloom whilst being in lockdown, partly thanks to the beautiful weather we have enjoyed over the past few weeks. Golf courses across the country will certainly be taking full advantage after a tough and wet few months prior. It's been a tough time no doubt and the team have had their challenges. Thankfully, James and the guys are well on the way to solving irrigation issues, and water has been going down for over a week now. Along with this we are finally getting some much needed rainfall. I work each week at the club to help the team, sand/seed fairways and tees, weeding bunkers, bins etc and could see a massive difference in four days. James course report is about to go to you all, so what I will say is the team are doing a great job, we are all 100% behind them, and it’s worth remembering we are three months in to a longer term plan to put Longniddry Golf club where it should be. Stick with it. Stay safe and enjoy the read. We are all very much missing our members, the laughs, the stories and our great links!
