On Tour
Brandt Snedeker stole the golfing headlines this by shooting 59 in the first round of the Wyndham Championship and then went on to win the tournament. Most of the top players in the world took last week off after The PGA Championship to rest before this weeks Northern Trust Open. It is a very strong field with the like of Tiger, Koepka and Jordan Spieth all playing.
In other news young Calum Hill won his first event on the Challenge Tour this week. Calum played the Scottish Open Qualifier here at the club and it is good to see another young Scot doing well on the Challenge Tour.

Professionals Day 2018
This Sunday is my first Professionals Day here at the club and it is going to be a great day for all. The tee sheet looks to be almost full from 7:30 to 15:00 so thank you to everyone for supporting the event. The format will be a four man team Texas Scramble with 10% of the combined handicaps. There will be prizes on all of the Par 3s and we will have Long Drive on a couple holes also. These prizes include fourballs at Dundonald, Montrose, Mortonhall and many more. We will also be raffling off a Callaway Epic driver and you can purchase your tickets in the pro shop on Sunday to have a chance of winning. £1 a ticket, 6 for £5. Someone has to win!!
It will be £5 pound for members and £10 pounds for guests. This will include your golf and complimentary drinks on holes 6 and 16. We are also taking hole sponsors which we still have some availability for anyone who is interested. This will be £50 and for this you will get a sign put up on the tee of the hole you are sponsoring and this will cover your entry also. Thank you to all that have already been kind enough to sponsor a hole it is much appreciated. For anyone who would like to still enter or sponsor a hole call the pro shop on 01875 852228 or email us at colin.fairweather@foremost.com.
John and Shona have also been kind enough to put a buffet on for us after the golf. This will be a two course buffet for £12 pounds per person. Buffet is 4-6.30pm, please support this. If you want to have the buffet please book with Shona.
The normal menu will still be available during the day also.

Rule of the week
Ball Against A Rake
What happens if your ball is sitting against the rake in a bunker? You can mark your ball in the bunker and then remove the rake. Once you have removed the rake you must then place the ball back to where it was. You cannot push the ball into the sand but if the ball does not rest at its previous position in the bunker, you can then place it at the nearest point possible after two attempts.
