What a great success
Another busy week with the Captain's Day Competition and the Ladies Open RNLI competition. Saturday was Club Captain Keith’s competition raising money for Prostate Cancer Charity. Many thanks to all who entered. It was a rough start to the morning, but it turned into a lovely day, and many enjoyed the fun format of Texas scramble raising plenty for Keith’s chosen charity.
Click here for the full results from the day.
Please can we remember when booking these fun day competitions to book tee times in your correct names and numbers. This gives us the opportunity to pair up and add other members to your time also. When new members join the club, its very important we all help them get to know other members, offer to have a game with them, and welcome them to our great club. If golfers don’t integrate into the club they will leave, so we all have a job here.
Tuesday was the Ladies RLNI Open competition with over 100 ladies enjoying our course. Well done to all involved in running the day, the ladies section, starters, it was a great success with many complementing the course. And lots was raised for the charity. A great day.

How does a FREE custom fitting and FREE lesson sound?
It's so important for golfers of all abilities - particularly amateurs, who have far more to gain - to get custom fitted, as opposed to leaving it to chance, like you'd be doing if you bought standard spec clubs straight off the shelf. You really have nothing to lose. We will help you to get the most out of any new equipment through a thorough custom fitting process before you buy, followed by a lesson to see you on your way. Come and speak to us in-store if you're interested, but remember this offer is only available until Sunday, 1 July. This offer runs for Lynx, PING and Titleist equipment.

Make it your own
Before you tee off make sure to mark your golf ball up so its clearly identifiable to yourself.
I would always recommend doing this before each round so you know without doubt its your ball. Its not enough to say it’s a Titleist 1. There’s lots out there and you need to be sure. I mark my ball with a stamp, of my best pal. How do you mark yours?

Take extra care
You may have noticed the white lines on the fairways. This is there to mark out the fairways and put shape back into correctly. The rough won’t be grown knee high around this, just semi rough, but it will make the course look better and back as it originally was.
Please can we ask all golfers wearing metal spikes to take extreme care on the greens. Some person, I am sure innocently is dragging their feet on the greens making this damage. The spike is not the problem, its just the person is dragging their feet. If you witness this, please let us know.
Alternatively, we can change your spikes to soft spikes for £10.
Please rake bunkers with rake correctly, take time and leave as you would expect please.
Please repair pitch marks, there are far too many out there right now.
Keep trolleys away from greens and off tee boxes. Don’t take you trolley on the tee boxes.
Keep the buggies away from greens and banks.
Look after your course!!
