Welcome all to my first Newsletter here at Longniddry Golf club which will hopefully ignite your enthusiasm to play more and better golf. I shall endeavour to pass golfing tips, industry news and views and just about anything connected to the wonderful game that we all so enjoy.

There will also be notifications of special promotions, fitting days, new stock arrivals, coaching packages, prize draws, competition results and much more! There will also be the opportunity to view and purchase a vast amount of stock through the "Click and Collect" section.

My First Month

Almost a month in the position and I am thoroughly enjoying working at the club. Thanks to all who have come in, introduced themselves and said hello. It’s been very nice meeting you all and the welcome has been very warm!

It’s been a very busy month meeting members, equipment suppliers and working away on plans for the shop. There will be lots of exciting things coming in the next few months.

Recently we added to the team, club member Mathew Foot who has started his career in the golf industry. I am delighted Mathew has joined us and he will be a real asset to the Professionals shop team.

Ladies Beetle Drive

On Tuesday, 6 February the Ladies section had their Beetle Drive and supper. It’s the first mixing event of the season and was a 7pm start including dinner.

Daily Course Condition/Updates

The course is looking good right now, make sure you repair all pitch marks, try and repair 2, 3 or more. Keep trolleys away from greens and tee boxes.

Tee Bookings

If you don’t get a tee time on a specific day, make sure to keep trying to either book online or contact the shop, even on the day as people cancel.

Cancellations - lots of wasted tee times, and tee time availability. Try and cancel with plenty of notice, give other golfers a chance to book. Obviously sometimes the weather comes into it but try and not give times back on the morning.
